Ko Te Roopu Hokowhitu he kotahitanga nō ngā marae e whitu e tū ana ki te rohe nei, ngā nohoanga o te iwi i heke mai ki te tonga. He mea whakarite i te tau 2006 hei whakawhanake i ngā kaupapa pākihi.


Te Roopu Hokowhitu Charitable Trust is a marae collective that was formed in 2006 with a focus on seeking and providing opportunities to improve the economic well-being of our people and the areas of business, health, education and environmental.

    Aorangi Marae

    Located on the other side of the Oroua river just outside of the Feilding township, Aorangi Marae is the home of one of the three hapū of Ngāti Kauwhata - Tahuriwakanui.

    Kauwhata Marae (Kai Iwi Pā)

    This marae sits in Feilding and shares the name Kauwhata with its wharenui. It holds strong connections to the awa Oroua and Rangitīkei, and to Maungatautari.

    Parewahawaha Marae (Ōhinepuhiawe)

    Located in Bulls, this marae is known as Ōhinepuhiawe. It belongs to Ngāti Parewahawaha and was opened in 1967 by Dame Te Atairangikaahu.

    Poupatatē Marae

    Near Halcombe, Poupatatē is the home of Ngāti Pikahuwaewae. The marae honours the Rangitīkei River and Maungatautari mountain.

    Taumata o te Rā Marae

    Located in Halcombe, 13 minutes north-east of Feilding, this marae is the home of Ngāti Manomano.

  • Te Hiiri Marae – Halcombe

    Te Hiiri Marae

    Between Feilding and Marton, Te Hiiri belongs to Ngāti Rangatahi, Ngāti Matakore and Ngāti Maniapoto, and others. The site includes Hato Hōhepa church, built in 1914.

  • Te Tikanga Marae – Halcombe

    Te Tikanga Marae (Tokorangi)

    Te Tikanga sits 18 minutes north of Feilding, next to the Rangitīkei River. The marae is home to the hapū of Ngāti Waewae and Ngāti Pikiahu, who together are known as Ngāti Pikiahu Waewae.
